Rā 331 Rāhoroi 26 o Whiringa-ā-rangi

A very productive day in the garden weeding, sweeping, pruning trees. Now ready for planting. The roses are looking pretty.

The sun came again today and strawberries are summer fruit so it must be summer!

Summer is here again today although it is quite windy!  But the bees are out sampling the nectar.

More from the garden. The roses are blooming madly.  Beautifully velvety and such perfect raindrops!

Long weekend with a lazy start and breakfast in the garden. Then water blasted the outside of the house so it’s all cobweb free and sparkling white. Hope the blue sky continues. This is the view from my swing seat.

Day 88 March 28th 2016

Counting down the days now… Today’s 10km walk/run will be pretty much the last one before Saturday and the 100km.  Maybe a couple of 5s just to keep the legs ticking over, but that is it! It was a beautiful evening and the Waikato river never fails to look stunning.  Love the walkway through the bush,  peaceful with just the call of the cicadas and the birds.

Day 87 March 27th 2016

Easter Sunday. The summer keeps on giving.  No big walking this weekend so time to catch up in the garden. Lots of clearing to do and finally getting round to painting the fence.  Disturbed lots of crickets and Praying Mantis as I cleared the weeds.  They fascinate me with their tiny heads and big eyes and beautiful patterns on their wings and the way they sort of hover with front legs in the air.
I wonder why some are a sort of browny pink when usually they’re green. Wonder if it’s because they’ve been hidden in the undergrowth or are they a different type altogether?

Day 77 March 17th 2016

St Patrick’s Day.  No green today but raising a glass to my Irish roots.  There are still some flowers hanging on to the summer in the garden.  Felt like being arty with this one.

Day 29 January 29th 2016

Nearly the end of the first month of 2016! Summer barbecues are in full swing so a photo of Nigel and his beer seems appropriate.  Since he was driving it was only one so even more special!

Day 24 January 24th 2016

Summer time means summer fruit and fruit smoothies.  I made this out of the left over punchy fruit salad I made for a party last night.  Perfect for an afternoon refreshing drink in the sunshine.
