Day 141 May 20th 2016
2nd SMS day and Oxfam Awards evening. A little underwhelmed by our challenge award for 1st women’s team! Reminded ourselves that we didn’t do it for the reward but for a very good cause. Enjoyed an evening in Auckland – the Sky Tower is always photogenic.
Day 140 May 19th 2016
The first of our SMS workshops today in Hamilton and then up to Auckland in preparation for tomorrow. I walked into Takapuna for tea and a walk on the beach.

A day at the computer and no photo opportunities. A sip of the amber nectar at the end of the day.
Day 137 May 16th 2016
It rained today. I mean it really rained. Not just a shower but full on stair rods, cats and dogs, persisting, really persisting, it bucketed down, estaba lloviendo a cántaros, il pleuvait des cordes, il pleuvait des seaux d’eau… and there was thunder and lightning. I love storms, real ones, especially when I’m safe and warm inside. But I have been known just to stand out in the rain and let the sweet rain drench me. The best storms we ever watched were from our tent in the Jura, France. Violent and beautiful and terrible electrical storms, everyday for two weeks mid afternoon. Forked lightning that split the sky. Cleared the air, freshened the atmosphere and left us to an evening under the stars and two highly charged children! We had a narrow escape too…but that’s another story.
Anyway, I took some video of the lightning lightening the sky…and Aonghas practising his guitar.
Day 136 May 15th 2016
It is hard to believe that only a few weeks away from the shortest day it is still warm enough to sit outside for breakfast. Nigel and I went for a gentle stroll around the beautiful Hamilton Gardens this morning which means that I have heaps of photos to choose from today. Too many! So this one is my pick just because it sort of represents history. All the others are in our Flickr stream.
Day 135 May 14th 2016
Enjoyed a good run out at Waipa today. Probably not the best training programme this week – 3.7km Monday, 7.6km Friday both round the lake in Hamilton (dead flat) followed by 15km off road at Waipa on Saturday. But the knee held out! I did stop a couple of times to take photos though. So many mushrooms about at the moment.

I love the way the geese stand at the edge of the lake and just look out. What are they thinking?
Day 132 May 11th 2016
First hockey game of the season for Hillcrest 1st XI. They made it closer than they should have but came through on top. A 2-1 win in the end. This is the half time team talk.
