The ups and downs
Starting to feel more Christmassy now the tree is installed but we are waiting for Rosa to arrive tomorrow to help decorate it. Meanwhile lots of preparation inside and out and I discovered these beauties . .. my favourite summer fruit.
Good to get out on the trails today. A steady 20km from Little Waipa to the Lookout over Jones’ Landing and back. Stunning view.
The garden is starting to bloom. Love the roses and especially this one. I remember it was my mum’s favourite coloured rose.
I took advantage of a school visit in Ngaruawahia to go for a lunchtime run up the Hakarimatas! Just under an hour up and down! Bit of a scorcher so it was good to have a splash in the waterfall at the bottom to cool down.
The feijoa tree is in full bloom; promises of delicious fruit…
A quiet day after yesterday evening’s excitement. Breakfast in the sunshine was perfect for a lazy Sunday morning.
Dad’s Day Out – a secret location has been on the calendar for a while. There has been a fair degree of speculation as to what it was but today all was revealed! And it didn’t disappoint! Aonghas, in his own words, was so overwhelmed that he “got quite emotional and even cried” when he heard his favourite song being played. The Coldplay concert at Mount Smart stadium was incredible. A real multi-sensory experience with a great atmosphere. I got a few good photos but this one has to be the pick since it has now gathered over a thousand likes and several hundred retweets!
The weather really doesn’t know what it wants to do! After two cold and blustery days the sun was out again and the temperature was higher (though to be fair I am 1000km further north than I was yesterday!)
Despite getting out at regular intervals during the day to ‘energise’, I failed to take any photos!
Consequently, here is another photo of Nigel sampling a beer from this evening at our local!
