The ups and downs
The sun came out today and we went on a long walk! I just can’t get enough of the clear blue water and golden sands so this panorama of Maori Beach on the Rakiura Track is my shot of the day.

No question of which photo gets the pick today. This sea lion caused some consternation in Oban Township today.

Today we visited Ulva Island. It was amazing. So difficult to choose a photo from all the magical moments. However, I think the Stewart Island robins really stole the show. Such cheeky little things.

And the wind and rain arrived on Stewart Island but with it came rainbows…

Over to Stewart Island today. The Foveaux Strait was quite calm and weather better than forecast so great views of Stewart Island on the way over but the view from our accommodation at Ringaringa has to be the pic of the day.

Water was the main feature today. The spectacular MacLean Falls claims the photo. The serenity of Lake Wilkie contrasted nicely with the elegant cascade of the falls and was a stark contrast to the crashing waves on Tautuku Beach. This photo is of the top of the triple drop falls.

A grey start to the day but the sun came out when we got to the southernmost tip of South Island.
Slope Point is aptly named – check out our holiday blog for more photos later.
First day in the Catlins and so many beautiful shots to choose from! A day spent at waterfalls, in bush and at beaches. This one from Purakaunui waterfall gets the pick. Apparently one of the most photographed waterfalls in New Zealand.
Having fun at Moeraki Boulders on our way to Dunedin. Summer roadtrip in South Island.
