The ups and downs
A day’s leave today and I went to Rosehill College with the Hillcrest High School sports teams to support them at the annual sports exchange. A productive day out with HHS retaining the shield. I was essentially there with the hockey team but it could also be counted as my first official duty as a BOT member! This photo is the 1st XI boys doing a selfie (grelfie!?) to send to one of the players who had just had his appendix out! 6-1 win
Home for a day! Gus suggested I should start paying hotel fees when I come home…
We dropped him off at hockey then went for lunch. Date time with Nigel! Good to spend time together. Then I went to watch the last part of the second game Aonghas was due to play. Unfortunately, he had been hit on the shoulder with a ball and couldn’t play. Already a nasty bruise and sore to move but it will work it’s way through a range of colours before it’s done!
A day in Wellington learning Te Reo and getting immersed in language again. Loved it but it was good to get home in time to go and see the last quarter of Aonghas’ hockey game. This time he was the coach and not a player. Great to see my boys growing up and taking on responsibility. Aonghas is coaching an intermediate school team and Lachlan is coaching Aonghas’ football team.
Hockey team came away with a 1-0 win, football today was a 6-6 draw.
For some reason this post remained as a draft way back on day 75! Just found it so have published but way out of synch!
Autumn is definitely in the air but summer is still hanging in there. I quite like the comfort of autumnal evening darkness yet still wrapped in the warm air of lingering summer. Anyway, the onset of Autumn means the start of the hockey season and a return to walking round the lake.
While waiting for Gus to finish training I decided to try out a Surround Shot. Uploaded to Street View for all to see. The image is below but go to the link to see it in 360 surround view, or even better, view through Google Cardboard to see in VR.
